How to Maximize the Chase Sapphire Reserve $300 “Exclusive Tables” Dining Credit

Sometime last year, Chase added a $300 annual dining credit to the Sapphire Reserve. But this credit is strictly fenced to a curated list of roughly 400 high-end restaurants operating under the Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables program.

Because the program is heavily concentrated in major metropolitan areas, utilizing the credit requires strategy. Here is the breakdown:

How the Credit Actually Works

NOTE: You DO NOT need to make a reservation for this credit to work.

There is a widespread misconception that you must book and prepay for a reservation through the Chase Ultimate Rewards/OpenTable portal to trigger this credit. This is false.

To earn the statement credit, you only need to swipe your Sapphire Reserve at the physical restaurant. Walk-ins are fully eligible.

RuleDetails
Distribution$300 annually, split into two $150 tranches.
Deadlines$150 available Jan 1 – Jun 30. $150 available Jul 1 – Dec 31.
RolloverNone. If you do not use the $150 by the end of the half-year, it vanishes.
Eligible ChargesFood, alcohol, taxes, and tips all count toward the $150 threshold.
Point EarningYou still earn 3x Ultimate Rewards points on the purchase, even after the credit is applied.
Payment MethodMust pay directly with the CSR (physical swipe or Apple/Google Pay). Third-party delivery apps (UberEats, DoorDash) will fail.

Eligible Restaurants

The footprint of the Exclusive Tables network is small. If you do not live in or frequently travel to New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Miami, your options will be severely limited. You can check the current footprint using crowdsourced tools like the CSR Dining Credit Map or check at OpenTable

Changes in Q3 2026

In July and October 2026, Chase executed massive updates to the network, adding several dozen restaurants but removing over 60 locations. Las Vegas was hit particularly hard, losing nearly its entire roster of eligible restaurants.

Grace Period

If Chase removes a restaurant from the Exclusive Tables list, there is a hard-coded 60-day grace period. If you dine at a removed restaurant within 60 days of its deletion date, the Chase system will still automatically issue your statement credit.

Gift Card Workaround

If you do not live near an eligible restaurant, or simply want to lock in the $150 bi-annual credit before it expires, you can try Gift Card option.

Liquidate the credit by purchasing a gift card directly from a participating restaurant. Data points consistently show that buying a physical gift card at the host stand—or purchasing a digital e-gift card directly from the restaurant’s website (provided their gift card processor is Toast or Square)—will successfully trigger the statement credit within 1 to 3 business days.
