As of today, Chase has officially rolled out the long-rumored Chase Sapphire Reserve (CSR) DoorDash benefit.
The previous $5 monthly restaurant credit is now replaced with $15 monthly flexible credit. Can be used on any DoorDash order—including restaurants, grocery, retail, and convenience stores.
CSR DoorDash Benefit
Starting today, CSR cardholders enrolled in DashPass receive the following each month:
- Free DashPass: $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on eligible orders (unchanged).
- $15 Flexible Credit [NEW]: Can be applied to any qualifying DoorDash order, including restaurants and non-restaurant categories.
- 2x $10 Non-Restaurant Credits: Can only be used on grocery, retail, or convenience store orders (unchanged).
What We Are Seeing Today
With the new $15 credit officially live in the app, people are seeing some issues. Here are the key data points you need to know before you place an order:
The “Hidden Credit” Glitch
If you want to use your $10 non-restaurant credits, you need to use the $15 credit first. Multiple users are reporting that the two $10 non-restaurant credits are currently “hidden” or missing from the checkout screen.
The fix: Once you successfully use the new $15 flexible credit, the two $10 non-restaurant credits will reappear and become available for use on subsequent orders.
You Cannot Stack Credits Together
DoorDash’s system will not allow you to combine the $15 flexible credit with a $10 non-restaurant credit on a single order. You must place separate orders to utilize each credit.
You Cannot Stack With Promo Codes
If you have a separate DoorDash discount or promo code, you cannot use it in conjunction with the $15 credit. Toggling the $15 Chase credit “on” at checkout immediately removes any other discount codes you have applied.
No Minimum Order Requirement (For Restaurants)
The $15 flexible credit works perfectly on small pickup orders. Users have confirmed successful checkouts on $12 restaurant pickup orders where the $15 credit absorbed the entire subtotal, leaving only the taxes to be paid out of pocket. (Note: Non-restaurant convenience orders often still trigger a DoorDash-imposed subtotal minimum, but standard restaurant orders do not).
App Rollout Issues
Some users are still seeing the old $5 promo instead of the new $15 promo in their app. If you don’t see the update yet, try logging in via a web browser, as the browser version seems to be updating faster than the mobile app for some accounts.
Verdict
Changing from $5 restaurant credit to $15 flexible credit is good. I wish this should stack with promo codes.
