Alaska is launching new Atmos communities on 1st October. You can choose from one of the 6 perks. Do remember, you can change your selection only once every calendar year.

- Starting October 1, 2026, Alaska/Atmos Rewards members can opt into one of six Atmos Communities to unlock tailored perks based on their travel habits.
- Available options:
- Families on the Go: Receive a 20% points rebate on award flights booked for children 12 years old and younger.
- Global Locals: Earn a 10% status point bonus on international travel. Plus, earn 1 status point for every 25 Atmos Rewards points transferred from eligible loyalty partners.
- Culinary Journeys or Active Escapes: Unlock a Bonus Points Challenge (earn up to 10,000 bonus points and status points by visiting 10 curated destinations), plus 20% off community-specific Atmos Unlocked experiences.
- Club 49: Exclusive to Alaska residents (includes free bags and resident-only deals).
- Huaka’i by Hawaiian: Exclusive to Hawaii residents (includes free bags, plus a 50% bonus on points and status points for Neighbor Island travel starting Jan 1, 2027).
Fine Print
- Selection is completely optional; you will not be automatically defaulted into a community if you do not choose one.
- Members can change their community selection once per calendar year.
- To enroll on or after October 1, log into your Atmos Rewards account and click “Join a Community”. Your active community badge will display directly under your account number.
Verdict
The Families on the Go community is highly lucrative if you book award flights for your kids, effectively acting as an instant 20% discount on their redemptions. I believe this can stack with the 20% off offer with Debit card waitlist.
